New Cities Momentum Index

The Momentum Index measures how successfully a city has been realized relative to its vision, economic impact, and rapid emergence. Scored from 0 to 100, the index evaluates factors like infrastructure development, livability, economic performance, and cultural vibrancy. It measures both how far along a city is to becoming a "real" city, as well as the quality of the city's development.

• 0-20: Stalled Start – Cities struggling with stalled growth and unmet expectations.
• 21-40: Slow Burn – Some progress, but momentum is weak or uncertain.
• 41-60: Moderate Momentum – A city is developing steadily but hasn't fully clicked.
• 61-80: Rapid Rise – Strong growth, aligning well with its intended vision.
• 81-100: Full Ignition – A city that has explosively succeeded, becoming a model of rapid and effective urbanization.
